In my hometown we have a big festival every May to celebrate what was once a huge industry in this area – apples. The highlights are a parade (two, actually), a queen, a circus, a carnival, a host of quasi-celebrities (this year we had Wayne Newton) and lots of pink and green.
It was great to see all my friends and family who came in from out of town, but after a weekend of events and visiting I’m looking forward to a break.
